About us

In 1982 a group of enthusiasts met in Rathgorey Transport Museum, Dunleer, Co. Louth, and agreed to form the Rathgorey Old Vehicle Club.  Initial membership was 28 and the following were elected officers: Chairman - Noel Clinton: Secretary - Sally Byrne: Treasurer - the late Peg Wall. The first outing was held in September 1982, and the first Mosney Vintage Weekend took place in 1983. The club held its first motoring extravaganza in 1985 to commemorate 100 years of the motor car. This has become a most successful annual event, now called the International Vintage and Classic Car Show.

In 1987 the club became a limited company, and the name was changed to North East Vintage Car Club (NEVCC). The club's millennium show in 2000 attracted over 700 exhibits. Many cross channel trips have been organized and the club welcomes UK clubs to its events.

Members meet informally at 8.30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at The Valley Inn, Dunleer, Co. Louth. New members will receive a warm welcome.
